Coco Chanel once famously quoted – “a woman with good shoes is never ugly” – let alone a beautiful bride with stunning shoes.
A pair of suitable footwear is the second most important element that comes after the gown. It enhances the bridal look, complements the location of the wedding, and helps narrating the style of the celebration. Over the span of 10 years, we have documented countless wedding shoes that are stunning enough to have its own story yet are given very little attention to. There are the classic ones like lace, descriptive ones with dazzling Swarovski crystals, and some unconventional designs or traditional shoes.
While most of the knowns high feels are from international brands like Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, and Dior, let's not also forget about some home grown brands like Christy Ng - one of our brides' favourite Malaysian labels. In some traditional celebrations like Chinese tea ceremony, brides would go traditional red shoes with gold embroidery. There are also some who prefer to wear a pair of Melissa or sparkly sneakers.
